# Nodes

> Configure your company's first node in less than 60 seconds.

### Create Node

Creating a node establishes a secure location where you can post your material data and enable controlled access to suppliers and customers. Each node acts as a distinct channel for specific data types or business relationships.

To create a node:

1. Go to [My Nodes <Icon icon="arrow-up-right" />](https://app.seminode.com/network?tab=my-node) in the Seminode app.
2. Select <Icon icon="database-zap" /> **Create Node**.
3. Provide a **name**, **contact information**, and **description**.
4. Configure **authentication** (read/write) and **discoverability** options. When checked, read/write protection requires authorization - when unchecked, anyone with the node URL can read or post data.
5. Click **Create Node** to finalize.

### Node Permissions

Node permissions are configured by clicking the <Icon icon="users" /> **users icon** next to a node in your list.

* **Read access** – when checked, only authorized partners can view data in the node. When unchecked, anyone with the node URL can read the data.
* **Write access** – when checked, only authorized partners can publish data to the node. When unchecked, anyone with the node URL can post data.

### Node URL

Each node is assigned a unique URL:

`https://your-company.seminode.com/<name>`

Example:

`https://microloom.seminode.com/excess`
