Create Node

Creating a node establishes a secure location where you can post your material data and enable controlled access to suppliers and customers. Each node acts as a distinct channel for specific data types or business relationships. To create a node:
  1. Go to My Nodes in the Seminode app.
  2. Select Create Node.
  3. Provide a name, contact information, and description.
  4. Configure Read Authentication and Write Authentication. When enabled, reading or posting requires authorization — when disabled, anyone with the node URL can read or post data.
  5. Optionally check Discoverable (Public discovery of node) so other companies can find the node in search.
  6. Click Create Node to finalize.
Read and Write Authentication are node-level settings chosen when you create the node. Their current state is shown as Read Auth and Write Auth badges in the node’s Settings modal, where you can also toggle Discoverable.

Node Actions

Use the three-dot menu (⋯) on the left of each node row to:
  • Permissions: Open the Manage Permissions modal (see below)
  • Settings: View the node’s URL, namespace, contact, auth badges, and timestamps, and toggle Discoverable
  • Delete: Remove the node — not available for your default node

Node Permissions

Authentication decides whether access is gated; permissions decide who gets through. Open Manage Permissions from a node’s ⋯ menu to grant access partner by partner:
  1. Set the Default access checkboxes — Read, Write, or both — to control what newly added partners get.
  2. On the Partners tab, search for a partner and click them to grant access.
  3. Switch to the Permissions tab to review every partner that has access, along with their Read and Write badges, and remove any you no longer want.
  4. Click Save Changes.
Each grant is tied to the partner’s public key, which you can copy from the Permissions tab.

Node URL

Each node is assigned a unique URL made up of your company, your team, and the node name: wss://<company>.seminode.com/<team>/<name> Example: wss://acme-components.seminode.com/procurement/excess
